Welcome to the website of Andrews Charitable Trust (ACT),
a grant-making organisation. Thank you for the interest
you are showing in our work.
Please
read the information on this website carefully before contacting
us or making an application, as we do not want to
waste your time and resources making an application which
ACT may not be able to support.
There are details of our policies
and examples of what ACT
does and does not fund.
Our mission is to support social change as an expression
of our Christian Values. To achieve this we:
- focus on innovative ideas or ways to address issues
of poverty
- back people or groups in the early stages of a new venture
- back organisations seeking a significant step-change in their work and, at a
fundamental level, their own organisational capacity i.e. ensuring the ability and
tools are in place replicate what they currently do so that it benefits a region or
the national or international community
- have a 'hands on' approach to grant-making i.e. we
seek to add value with a blend of governance, management,
advice and networking input to the organisations we work
with and
- promote viability and independence of the organisations
we work with within three years.
In all that we do, we seek to work with people who have innovative,
sustainable and replicable solutions that meet human needs
in the UK and rest of the world. Whilst we operate from
a Christian faith and values standpoint, we are keen to stress
that we support work for and with all faiths and also those
with none.
To utilise our limited resources we work with only 2 or
3 partners a year, and mainly do so via grant support.
In this way we believe that we can make our unique contribution
to the work of key organisations who, in that work, impact
upon many of the world's most disadvantaged people. more >
