History

The Christian Initiative Trust was established in 1968 by Cecil Jackson Cole, a UK business man who believed that business had a moral and social responsibility to work in partnership with and support of charity.

Jackson Cole’s own work and beliefs were of the Quaker tradition and he wanted to support individuals and organisations to make a difference in sharing the faith and/or supporting new ways of working which helped those in need in our communities.

A self-made man, Jackson Cole, developed his business interests principally via Andrews and Partners, which is now one of the UK’s largest independent property specialists. www.Andrewsonline.co.uk

Towards the end of his life, Cecil Jackson Cole formalised his commitment to utilise business expertise and funding to promote faith and charitable work, creating three charitable trusts which now own the business. The three trusts receive income annually from the profits of Andrews & Partners. Andrews & Partners is 100% owned by the three trusts, who are it’s only shareholders. Our two sister Trusts are:

Andrews Charitable Trust (ACT)

Christian Book Promotion Trust (CBPT)

All three Trusts have different purposes, operate and are run independently.
